The small studio with the BIG sound!
Using a mixture of technology, the studio can utilise CD, vinyl and WAV music feeds. Modern production methods have somewhat removed the heart and soul from radio, and I endeavour to put it back by returning to the hands-on way of doing things. Music is played on an Asus laptop running Virtual DJ. CDs are played on Philips and Marantz CD players. Vinyl is played on an Ion quality turntable. A Samsung Notebook running Jingle Palette is used for jingles, 2 Realistic cassette decks are available for playing content on tape, and a Behringer DJX750 professional mixer brings it all together, fed into an HP Compaq desktop PC running Cool Edit to record the shows. The end result is far removed from today's automated playlist radio, and is what I call "flying by the seat of your pants", where sometimes things do go wrong!
